The TP-Link RE330 is what I'd call an honest WiFi extender—it won't revolutionise your connectivity, but it delivers practical range extension without breaking the bank. At £20.82, you're looking at decent value for a dual-band AC1200 unit that targets those frustrating dead zones most homes develop.
What works well: the device is genuinely plug-and-play. The setup app is intuitive, even for non-technical users, and it pairs with any router on the market. The ethernet port is a proper feature at this price point, letting you connect wired devices like gaming consoles or smart TVs instead of relying solely on wireless extension. EasyMesh support is a nice touch for future-proofing if you eventually build a mesh network. Build quality feels respectable—it's a compact, wall-plug design that doesn't look dreadful.
Where it's limited: AC1200 isn't the fastest standard anymore. If you've got gigabit internet and multiple heavy users streaming 4K or gaming simultaneously, you'll notice bottlenecks. Range is good for typical homes but won't magically reach that shed at the bottom of the garden. It's also placement-sensitive—stick it in a poor location and performance drops noticeably.
For whom: ideal if you've got a standard home with WiFi dead spots, basic streaming needs, or older devices that don't need WiFi 6. Less suitable if you demand maximum speed or have a sprawling property.
At this discount, it represents fair value. You're paying under £21 for something that actually works, backed by TP-Link's decent support. It's not exciting, but it's reliable and honest—precisely what most people need from a range extender.
