The Shark PowerPro IZ380UK is a lightweight cordless stick vacuum that bridges the gap between budget options and premium brands like Dyson. At 3.5kg, it's noticeably lighter than many competitors, making it comfortable for extended cleaning sessions and ideal if you struggle with heavier uprights.
What impressed me most is the Floor Detect Technology. Rather than manually switching between carpet and hard floor modes, the vacuum automatically adjusts suction intensity. This isn't just convenient—it genuinely extends battery life when you're switching between kitchen tiles and lounge carpet. The anti-hair wrap technology addresses one of cordless vacuums' most annoying issues; traditional brushes can get clogged within days if you have pets, but this design minimises that frustration.
The handheld detachable mode is surprisingly versatile. You lose a bit of suction power without the full machine, but for quick sofa clean-ups, car interiors, and awkward corners, it's genuinely useful. The anti-allergen complete seal is also valuable if anyone in your household has respiratory sensitivities.
Where the PowerPro shows its limitations: runtime is around 40 minutes on full suction, which is adequate for most homes but not generous. The dustbin capacity sits at 0.5 litres—smaller than some competitors, so you'll empty it more frequently. Carpet cleaning power is decent but doesn't match premium cordless models; it's better suited to light-to-moderate debris rather than deep pile carpets.
At £125.97—40% off the RRP—this represents solid value. You're not getting Dyson performance, but you're paying half the price. For flats, smaller homes, or as a second vacuum, it's genuinely worth considering. If you've got large carpeted areas or heavy shedding pets, you might stretch your budget slightly higher for something more powerful.
