The Shark NeverChange5 has become my go-to recommendation for anyone after a no-fuss air purifier. What sets it apart is that 5-year HEPA filter—whilst other models nickel-and-dime you with annual replacements, this one genuinely saves you money and hassle over time. The coverage of 60 square metres is decent for most bedrooms and medium living rooms, though larger open-plan spaces might need two units.
Performance-wise, it captures 99.97% of allergens, which includes the usual suspects: dust, pollen, and pet dander. If you've got a shedding dog or cat, you'll notice the difference within days. The Auto Mode sensor adjusts fan speed based on air quality, which means quieter operation when the air's already clean—genuinely useful rather than marketing fluff. The LED display is intuitive, showing filter status and air quality at a glance.
Noise levels are respectable. It's not silent, but it's far from disruptive on quieter settings. Some users might notice it more in a bedroom, but it's manageable. The white finish is clean and blends into most décor without looking industrial.
One minor caveat: the 5-year filter means you're committing to the unit. If it fails after year three, you're stuck with a filter designed for five years. However, Shark's reliability record is solid, so this is rarely an issue. Also, whilst 60sqm coverage is good, it's not a powerhouse for large warehouses or very open spaces.
At £141.66—32% off the typical £208—this represents excellent value, especially when you factor in five years of filter-free operation. For allergy sufferers, pet owners, or anyone tired of monthly filter replacements, this purifier genuinely earns its place. It's a sensible, cost-effective choice for long-term air quality.
