The Shark TurboBlade is one of those appliances that does exactly what it promises without pretence. It's a bladeless tower fan designed for safety and modern aesthetics, which matters if you've got kids or pets wandering about. The headline feature—projecting air up to 20 metres—is legitimate; in a typical living room or bedroom, this covers a decent radius without needing the fan mounted right next to you.

What actually impresses me most is the quiet operation. At speeds 1-4, it's genuinely unobtrusive; speeds 7-10 get noticeably louder but still reasonable for a cooling appliance. The 180° oscillation ensures even distribution rather than blasting one spot, and the pivot feature adds flexibility if you need to angle it differently.

Ten speed settings feel excessive on paper but in practice let you dial in comfort without wasting electricity. The remote control is intuitive, and the timer function is handy for running it while you sleep without leaving it on all night.

Pegs: It won't replace air conditioning in genuinely hot climates, and bladeless fans typically circulate rather than cool—you're shifting existing air, not dropping room temperature. It's also not the cheapest option if budget is your only concern. The charcoal finish shows dust, which is cosmetic but worth knowing.

At £134 (36% off), this sits in that sweet spot where you're not overpaying for the Shark name but genuinely getting a well-engineered fan with thoughtful features. If you want safe, quiet, and effective air circulation for a medium-to-large room, this deserves consideration.
