Review

The Shark PowerPro Pet IZ380UKT is a cordless stick vacuum designed specifically for households with pets—and honestly, that focus shows. This isn't a jack-of-all-trades machine; it's built to tackle what makes pet ownership a cleaning nightmare: hair, dander, and odours.

What impressed me most is the anti-hair wrap technology. Pet hair wrapping around the brush roll is a real problem with most vacuums, but Shark's solution genuinely reduces this. Combined with the anti-allergen complete seal, it's actually useful for allergy sufferers in pet homes. The Floor Detect technology automatically adjusts suction between hard floors and carpets, which saves battery and prevents that constant whirring when you move from tile to rug.

It's lightweight for a cordless model—important because you'll be lifting it regularly for stairs and furniture. The handheld mode works well for sofas and car interiors, though the battery won't last quite as long at full cordless runtime compared to plugged-in models. Runtime is decent for a mid-range cordless, but not exceptional; expect 20-30 minutes depending on floor type and mode.

The main trade-offs: battery isn't user-replaceable, so eventually you'll face a degradation curve. Storage footprint is minimal though, which matters in smaller homes. Dust bin capacity is reasonable but not enormous. The brush bar can require occasional manual cleaning despite the anti-wrap design—it's better than alternatives, not perfect.

At £155.83, this sits well below premium cordless prices (Dyson territory is £400+) whilst offering genuine pet-specific engineering rather than generic cordless convenience. It's ideal for small-to-medium homes with shedding pets where cordless flexibility matters more than extreme suction power. For larger properties or severe shedding, a full upright or plug-in might better justify the space they occupy. But for flat-dwellers and regular users who value practicality over raw performance, this is a legitimate value proposition. Worth the money at current discount.
