The Ferdiiz 1920P endoscope camera is a handy inspection tool that delivers real utility at this price point. It's essentially a miniature camera on a flexible cable – 16.4 feet long – that lets you see into tight, dark spaces on your phone or tablet. The 1920P resolution is respectable for this category; images are clear enough to spot blockages, corrosion, or mechanical issues without squinting.
What works well is the adjustable LED array. Eight lights sounds excessive, but in pitch-black drains or engine bays, having multiple brightness settings genuinely matters. The semi-rigid cable strikes a decent balance between flexibility and control – it won't kink as easily as fully flexible models, but you still get reasonable manoeuvrability. IP67 waterproofing is essential for drain work, and it delivers.
The limitations? At this price, don't expect professional-grade optics. The image can be a bit soft at maximum extension, and the cable diameter (around 5.5mm) means tighter passages might be inaccessible. The mobile app is functional but basic. There's also no built-in recording capability – you're reliant on your phone's screen recording, which works but feels clunky.
It's ideal for homeowners troubleshooting blockages, DIY mechanics inspecting tight engine bays, or anyone curious about what's lurking in walls or pipes. For professional plumbers or engineers doing detailed inspections, you'd probably want something pricier with better lens quality.
At £13.28 – down from £24.99 – this represents genuine value. You're not getting boutique inspection-grade equipment, but you're getting a functional tool that actually performs its job. It's worth the space in your toolbox.
