The KIMMOO desk fan is a straightforward cooling solution that doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. What you're getting is a compact, rechargeable fan with a genuinely useful ice-cooling reservoir at the base—fill it with water or ice, and the airflow genuinely feels cooler. The 199 speed settings are honestly overkill; most users will stick to 5-10 preferred speeds, but the option is there if you're fussy about air intensity.
The 270° rotation is practical for directing cool air across a desk or bedroom without moving the unit itself. The digital display shows speed level and temperature, which is a nice touch for this price point. On the noise front, lower speeds are genuinely quiet—nothing that'll disturb concentration or sleep. Higher speeds do produce a noticeable hum, but that's typical for any portable fan with real airflow.
The USB-C recharging is where this wins against older competitors. No cable clutter, no AA batteries running out mid-summer. Runtime depends entirely on your speed setting; max speed drains the battery in roughly 4-5 hours, whilst lower speeds stretch it to 8-10 hours.
Worth noting: the cooling effect is mild—it's not replacing your AC, but it supplements it perfectly. For desk use or small bedrooms, that's entirely sufficient. The plastic build is sturdy enough, though it won't survive a serious fall. Ideally, I'd have liked a built-in timer for sleep mode, and the ice reservoir could be larger.
At £16.65, you're getting a genuinely functional desk fan with modern conveniences. It's not premium, but it's reliable and outperforms fans double the price from bargain brands. Recommended if you need focused cooling without breaking the bank.
