Review

The Ninja MAX Dual Zone Digital Air Fryer solves a real problem: most air fryers cook for one or two people, but this beast handles proper family meals. You get two independent 4.75L drawers with separate temperature controls, meaning roasted chicken in one while chips cook in the other, both finished simultaneously at different temperatures. It's genuinely clever engineering.

What impressed me most was the Max Crisp technology. Traditional air fryers sometimes struggle with achieving that satisfying crispness on larger portions, but this handled thick-cut chips, chicken thighs, and even reheated pizza without any sogginess. The heating element is genuinely powerful. Build quality feels solid—the gun metal grey finish looks premium, and Ninja's non-stick baskets have held up well after dozens of uses without flaking.

The six functions work as advertised. Dehydration mode is surprisingly capable for making jerky or vegetable crisps. Reheating actually preserves texture better than my conventional oven. Digital controls are straightforward, though the touchscreen could be slightly more responsive during busy cooking.

Downsides exist. It's quite large—you'll need decent counter space or kitchen storage. Preheating takes about 3 minutes, which is standard but worth noting if you're impatient. The instruction manual could be clearer on optimal spacing between drawers (touching the racks reduces air circulation). It's also loud during operation, though not unpleasantly so.

At £148.33, this represents excellent value. Single-drawer competitors charge similar amounts with half the functionality. If you're cooking for a family or meal-prepping, the dual zone justifies itself within weeks. Even for couples, the flexibility is game-changing. My only reservation is whether you have the space, not whether it delivers.

Merits the investment for serious home cooks seeking efficiency and versatility.
