The Pro Breeze Osmo is one of those refreshingly simple products that does exactly what it says without fuss. It's a passive dehumidifier using calcium chloride-based refillable tablets to absorb moisture from the air—no plug, no noise, no moving parts to fail. I've found it genuinely useful in my spare bedroom where condensation builds up on the windows, and it's made a noticeable difference within a few days of placement.
What I like most is the silence and low maintenance. Unlike electric dehumidifiers that consume power and generate noise, this sits quietly wherever you need it. The 700g tablet is easy to swap out—typically lasts 2-3 weeks before it's saturated with moisture. Replacement tablets are inexpensive, making the running costs negligible. It's particularly effective in smaller, enclosed spaces like wardrobes and under-bed storage where ventilation is poor.
That said, this isn't a solution for serious damp or structural moisture problems. If you're dealing with significant condensation or rising damp, you'll need proper ventilation or an electric dehumidifier with real capacity. The Osmo is best suited to minor moisture issues and preventative use. I've also noticed it works better in genuinely humid conditions—in naturally drier rooms, you might not see dramatic results.
At £14.99 (down from £22.49), it's excellent value. For the price of one week's coffee, you get an unobtrusive way to manage household moisture without electricity or maintenance headaches. If you've got problem areas that aren't severe, this deserves a place in your home. Just manage expectations—it's preventative, not curative.
